New Year, Lots of Changes

A New Year!
Well now, 2013 is gone and we're off and running in 2014! First thing's first though, I'd like to wish everyone a very happy new year!
I've been quite busy the past 2 weeks and feel like I've already worked my ass off! Started the new year by taking on a bathroom remodel project that someone else started a while back. Had some help, which I needed, and the two of us fumbled our way through cutting, tiling, sanding and grouting over the course of 4 long LONG days!
Since finishing up with that project however, I've been a busy bee getting together something special...
New Lower Prices
In an effort to make prints more widely available, I have lowered the prices on nearly every product in my gallery! Photo Prints, Canvas Wraps, ThinWraps, and Metal Prints all had their prices slashed!
In addition to lowering prices, I've made a couple other big changes to my print catalogue for 2014.
Open, Limited, Gold OH MY!
New for 2014 is something I've been wanting to organize and get going for a while, but never really had the time to impliment before: Print Editions!
I'm now offering up three editions for my work!
Open Edition:
The new lower prices in the gallery shop makes up what is called "Open Edition". These prints are priced lower, are unsigned, and have an unlimited quantity as long as the image is still available. Other websites that are selling my work also fall into this "Open Edition", though I have less control over prices sometimes.
Buying an Open Edition print, is easy! Just click the "Buy" button in any of my galleries and you'll be presented with various sizes, prices, and options.

Limited Edition:
With only 100 total prints for each image, the new Limited Edition series offers up signed prints that come directly from me. Each print in this series also comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity and sometimes goodies (read: schwag) depending on what stock I have on hand.
Pricing for these prints starts at $100 and YOU get to choose the size of the print. Larger prints, unfortunately, I have to send out for so there is a small printing fee. As prints sell however, the price of images in this edition will go up, maxing out at (currently) $800 for the last 5 prints of an image.
My entire body of work is now live and available for Limited Edition purchases from my new web-shop (details below) or by contacting me directly. I only accept PayPal for Limited Edition prints.
Gold Edition:
The ultimate collector's edition! The Gold Edition is similar to Limited Edition, but there are only 25 prints available of each image!!! Also, each print is produced on Illford Gallery Prestige Gold Fiber Silk paper, one of the highest quality papers on the market today. With excellent tone and color representation, as well as an exceptionally long archival rating, this paper really is the "bee's knees" of print display.
The Gold Edition is also similar to Limited Edition in that the size of print you want is completely up to you! The price breakdown for this edition is not quite finalized, but prints will start at $500 and quickly go up as the edition sells out!
Gold Edition prints are not quite ready for purchase online. You can, however, contact me directly to purchase these. The availability of Gold Edition prints in my web-shop should be coming by the end of the month.

As mentioned above, I've got a brand new web-shop specifically for making it easier to buy prints and products directly from me. Limited Edition prints and Postcards are currently all in stock and ready to go, and Gold Edition prints and Greeting Cards being added in the coming weeks.

Boycot Macy's!
Macy's is trying to market an ad campaign right now that is a flat out insult to artists here in America!
Branded as "Macy's American Icons", this ad campaign is calling for americans to "be apart" of a series of new Macy's commercials and ads. And, while it sounds great on the surface to be a decent shoe in for aspiring artists, thats where the fun stops.
In reviewing the terms and conditions for this campaign, Macy's offers absolutely no royalties to content submitters. There isn't even any kind of guarantee for being credited as a contributor. Whats worse still is that once something is uploaded, the original contributor forfeits all copyright claims and agrees that Macy's holds full ownership of any material uploaded, weither it is used or not!
I implore EVERYONE to openly boycot this campaign by sharing and spreading the word to as many people as you can. We as Americans, nay as human beings, should not tolerate this kind of underhanded attempt at gaining free labor by greedy corporations.

eBay Price Hike

Stupid eBay Fees!
Due to increasing production costs, as well as increased eBay fees, I'm sad to announce that I've had to increase the cost of my prints sold via eBay. I've maintained my prices for almost 5 years, but have had an increasing loss of my already low profits from each sale. While I would love to continue offering the low prices that I have been, the time involved in setting up new auctions (even with automation) is getting to the point of just not being worth the few dollars I get in return. I know that today's economy is tight, and on that note I've decided to increase prices gradually over the next 3 months.
The first price increase is already in effect for 8×12″ photo prints, with starting bid prices only up $0.99 from $12.00 to $12.99 and buy it now prices up $4.00 from $15.00 to $19.00.
Considering the addition of over 100 images from New Zealand this year, I feel that this is a very modest and reasonable change. After all, I don't get paid for my travel expenses, equipment, or time Of course, eBay is just one place to get my prints. I am always happy to discuss custom orders and pricing.

New Website and a Sale!

New Website!
This past week I've done a complete overhaul on my website. In this update I've changed the look (again) to be more optimized for speed, integrated a running blog section, and (the big change) finally added direct sales of prints and products!
Thanks to SmugMug's ability to add custom CSS to their pages, my site as a whole is now seamless in its transitions from static content to gallery to product purchases. Along with this update is the awesome fact that any print or product orders ship direct from BayPhoto, one of the leading print labs in the US.
